Day 93. Stila Lip & Cheek Stain in Coconut Crush [review & swatches]

Today I am reviewing one of the most famous product from Stila, the Lip & Cheek Stain. In particular, I am reviewing the shade called Coconut Crush.

Stila Lip & Cheek Stain in Coconut Crush

The Lip & Cheek Stains from Stila come in a marker-like packaging, and the applicator is a brush with synthetic bristle. It contains 2.4ml/0.08oz of product. The Stila stains are cheek and lip safe.
You are to twist the back of the marker to push the color out of the tube and deposit it on the bristle. After that you can apply the stain. This kind of packaging is not the best for my lips, as I need a little bit of more control of my brush. Once the bristles are dirty, it is also difficult to gauge how much product is going to come out of the tip. I prefer err on the side of caution and give the maker half a twist and not lose too much product.

Let's talk about the shade called Coconut Crush.
It's a bronze, dark pink color with a gold shimmer. If applied conservatively it's very subtle, sheer and looks almost like a nude color. If applied more strongly the bronze color and the shimmer becomes more evident, and it gains a almost purplish reflection. In this case, Coconut Crush seems to have an almost metallic finish.
Please see the picture below for a light and heavy handed application.

It's easy to apply and has a light scent that disappears quickly. It dries in a few seconds.
On my lips it last about 4/5 hours before disappearing completely.

more generously (two layers).

This shade is particularly suitable for a day look, it's not too much but still give a hint of color. It's not long lasting but the brush applicator makes reapplying easy and quick.
